Hi, I'm James!

The creator of Mathemy Mindset.  Based in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire in the UK, I have been a full-time Maths Tutor for 7 years, going solely online after the pandemic.

While tutoring, I quickly realised that many pupils had unique and individual needs, worries and concerns not just with their Maths but often in coping with their unique circumstances. Just as we all do, these were often wide-ranging including anxiety, ASD, ADHD, depression, and panic attacks to name just a few.

So I felt learners young and old needed someone in their corner, helping them to become the best version of themselves whilst also making sure they knew how to solve simultaneous equations, and so I created Mathemy-Mindset…

Our English Tutor

I am a kind and patient English tutor who takes a friendly and pastoral approach to learning. I lead my classes with enthusiastic knowledge to inspire and uplift my students.

I have a BA in English literature, an MA in creative writing and over 10 years experience as a tutor within the further education sector.

It is my goal to make English literature and language accessible and enjoyable for all. I can’t wait to see you in my sessions!

Hi, I'm Grant!

Our Maths and Computer Science Tutor

Hi, I’m Grant. I’m qualified as a secondary school teacher with a PGCE, a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, and an MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence. 

I also work at a charity for adults with learning disabilities and autism, where I tutor and provide individualised support. My approach is always person-centred. Everyone learns differently, has unique strengths and progresses at their own pace. 

Alongside tutoring, I also run a not-for-profit community drumming project, where I facilitate inclusive sessions that encourage self-expression, connection and wellbeing through music. I bring creativity, patience and enthusiasm to all my teaching, aiming to help every student build confidence and enjoy learning.

Hi, I'm Pete!

Our Science Tutor

Hi. I have been teaching science in Secondary schools since 1997 and been tutoring for over six years. I have a BSC in Biology and a PGCSE Science.

I believe in a friendly approach in teaching and tutoring and in my spare time I am a stand-up comedian and radio DJ with Rock Radio UK (Pete K Mally) . I am also an author, with four books on worldwide sale. 

During the tutoring sessions I will explain difficult concepts as well as revisit exam papers. All students have access to my resources and I am very patient as I know how frustrating learning can become to some.

I currently work in a college and teach the AQA GCSE syllabus as well as coach life skills. I believe I am very motivational and my past clients are exceptionally happy with their results.

I would highly recommend James as a GCSE maths tutor. James managed to improve my daughter's GCSE result from a grade 3 to a grade 5 within an 8 week period. He went above & beyond to mark extra work and provide additional resources to support her with revision leading up to her exams.
