Our Maths Tutor

Hello! I’m Abbas. With a passion for education and a wealth of experience.

My passion for teaching initially began in a small village near Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, teaching pupils basic English. Then once back in the U.K, I continued to help run summer camps focusing on personal development, morals, ethics and other life skills alongside revision and academic support.

Having seen the impact such intervention can make; I qualified as a trained Facilitator for the NPL (Neuro Psychology of Learning) programme trained by Susan Nash.

This programme used different models to explain differences in people in terms of their personality strengths and areas of improvement. Training teachers with the aim of them understanding their students better, as well as themselves as teachers; allowing them to tailor their teaching methods and techniques to best aid their student’s education.

Wanting more work-life balance I decided to leave this role to be able to spend more time with my family and become a tutor. I’ve since helped many learners feel more confident in their Maths and Science knowledge, whilst recognising the unique individual needs of every learner that I’ve been lucky enough to teach. My son is enjoying his maths lessons with Abbas and looks forward to the next lesson. Hopefully he will continue to gain confidence and do well in school.

I would highly recommend Abz as a GCSE maths tutor. Abz managed to improve my daughter's GCSE result from a grade 3 to a grade 5 within an 8 week period. He went above & beyond to mark extra work and provide additional resources to support her with revision leading up to her exams.

My 13 year old son engaged with Abbas very well during the lesson. I booked this lesson as a one off pre exam to go over a specific topic but would book lessons with Abz again if it was required. He also sent some homework which was helpful.

Abz has given my daughter so much more confidence in her maths ability. He is a superb tutor. He is very easy to talk to, explains problems very simply, which makes maths so much more appealing to her because she understands how to and why to etc. He has adapted his teaching to the way my daughter learns and she looks forward to her weekly sessions. His approach to tutoring is a god send and we are so very glad we found him. 5 stars all round. And a really nice guy too!

Abbas is very helpful and kind. He is always doing his best to support my son with his Maths and help him improve any and explain things well.

Abbas seems to have got off to a great start with Harry as he is really positive and hopeful he will be able to pick up and understand the areas that he needs help with.

Abbas has had a profound effect already on my 15yo daughter's attitude to her GCSE maths studies. Positive, patient, and encouraging. She commented that she learns more in an hour session with Abbas than she does in weeks of struggling at school.
